Grim North is excited to welcome Producer and Writer, John Paul Chapple, to its official judging panel.

John Paul Chapple is founder/director of the horror franchise The Horror Lab and director of the production and finance company, FOS which is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange. He is a producer and writer who has worked in the film and TV sector for many years. He has held executive positions at Quintet Films, Portman Productions, Global Television, JGTV and Endemol. His production credits include Mike Leigh’s High Hopes; Peter Chelsom’s first feature film, Hear My Song; The Human Bomb, directed by Anthony Page and No Holds Bard for Sky Arts. His writing credits include Saul Metzstein’s Guy X, Billy Zane’s directorial debut, Big Kiss and, as co-writer, the cult horror movie Bathory, Countess of Blood. He has also written for high profile TV events such as the Bafta Film Awards and Tributes to Elizabeth Taylor, Burt Bacharach & Hal David and Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller. He was also lead writer on the epic millennial 36 hour live TV broadcast, 2000 Today, for the BBC. He has recently completed End of Term, a horror movie he also wrote, and is in pre-production on two further horror films, Becoming and Scream Room, with The Horror Lab, FOS and Brickworks Media.
